Marcos Rubinstein
Marcos Rubinstein was born in San Cristobal,Venezuela, in 1960. He received the B.S. degree in electronics from the Universidad Simon Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela, in 1982 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 1986 and 1991, respectively. He worked in Hybrid Circuit manufacturing technology at the Venezuelan Engineering Research Institute, Caracas. In 1992, he joined the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland, where he worked in the fields of lightning physics, lightning electromagnetics, and lightning location systems in close cooperation with the former Swiss PTT.
In 1995, he joined Swisscom (formerly Swiss PTT), where he was involved in research in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility, numerical electromagnetics, and biological effects of electromagnetic radiation. In 2001, he joined the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, Yverdon-les-bains, Switzerland. He is the author or co-author of over 70 scientific publications in reviewed journals and international conferences. Prof. Rubinstein is the recipient of the best Master鈥檚 Thesis award from the University of Florida and co-recipient of NASA鈥檚 recognition for innovative technological work.
Marcos Rubinstein naci贸 en San Cristobal,Venezuela, en 1960. Recibi贸 el t铆tulo en electr贸nica de la Universidad Simon Bolivar, Caracas, Venezuela, en 1982 y los t铆tulos de M.S. y Ph.D. en ingenier铆a el茅ctrica de la University of Florida, Gainesville, en 1986 y 1991, respectivamente. Trabaj贸 en la fabricaci贸n de circuito h铆bridos en el Instituto Venezolano de Investigaci贸n en Ingenier铆a, Caracas. En 1992 se uni贸 al Instituto Federal Suizo de Tecnolog铆a, Lausanne, Suiza, donde trabaj贸 en la f铆sica de la descarga, campos electromagn茅ticos y聽 sistemas de localizaci贸n de descargas, en cercana cooperaci贸n con la antigua PTT Suiza. En 1995 se uni贸 a Swisscom (la antigua PTT), donde estuvo involucrado en investigaciones en compatibilidad electromagn茅tica y efectos biol贸gicos de la radiaci贸n electromagn茅tica. En 2001 se uni贸聽 a la Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas de Suiza Occidental, Yverdon-les-bains, Suiza. Es autor y co-autor de m谩s de 70 publicaciones cient铆ficas y revisor de de art铆culos de revistas y conferencias internacionales. El Prof. Rubinstein recibi贸 el premio a la mejr tesis de maestr铆a de la Universidad de Florida y el reconocimiento por trabajo innovador dela NASA.
