Description

Considering ABET Accreditation for the first time? In this session / workshop you will learn what is needed to prepare for the initial accreditation of a program and where to find more information. We will review the whole process and hear from representatives of Colombian programs that have obtained ABET accreditation.

Objective

Provide participants with relevant information about this model of accreditation and present elements that allow a better decision-making on accreditation, based on the work that already exists in Colombia.

Methodology

This interactive session will be a panel discussion involving a representative of ABET and faculty of two ABET-accredited programs in Colombia. This discussion will be of value to faculty and staff from programs that are considering ABET accreditation for the first time. Emphasis will be on both the formal requirements for eligibility and on what experience has revealed, especially in Colombia. At the end of the discussion, panelists will take questions from the audience.
