The Global Engineering Deans Council – Chapter Latin America (GEDC-LATAM) and the Colombian Association of Faculties of Engineering (ACOFI) call deans, associate deans, department heads and program directors at the Sixth Meeting GEDC-LATAM, which will be held at the Convention Center of the City of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) on 3 and 4 October 2016.
His chapter in Latin America reaffirms that mission with emphasis on members located in the subcontinent. The Sixth Meeting GEDC-LATAM is the continuation of the previously developed in Barranquilla (Colombia), Monterrey (Mexico), Quito (Ecuador), Vina del Mar (Chile) and La Paz (Bolivia) events.
GEDC (www.gedcouncil.org) it was created in 2008 by executives from prestigious engineering schools across five continents in order to become the leading global network of such disciplines to leverage the collective strengths of its members and work for the advancement of engineering education, quality research and service to the international community.
This time, the event will take place in the framework of the International Conference on Education in Engineering ACOFI (EIEI ACOFI 2016).
Entitled “Innovation in engineering faculties,” the GEDC-LATAM 2016 Meeting will be ideal to share experiences and best practices, reflect on the current situation and future challenges for engineering faculties, and discuss the importance of the concepts opportunity innovation and entrepreneurship as part of the professional curriculum, as well as about the importance of good management as an essential element of strategies for strengthening processes of training and research. The academic agenda includes presentations by recognized leaders of engineering education, as well as full spaces for discussion among participants.
With the leadership and organization of ACOFI, GEDC-LATAM invited deans and directors of faculties and engineering schools in Latin American universities to participate.
